Product Manager

Our client is seeking a highly motivated Product Manager to lead the development and lifecycle of their consumer electronic products. This role will own the product strategy, roadmap, and execution for next generation targeting radio hobbyists, first responders, and communication enthusiasts.

The ideal candidate has a passion for consumer electronics, a strong understanding of radio frequency products, and the ability to translate customer needs into high-performing, market-leading devices.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement product strategies and develop product roadmaps in alignment with the organization’s vision.
  • Provide strategic direction and take ownership of cross-functional initiatives.
  • Create strategic cross-functional collaboration with Sales, Operations, Marketing, and Engineering.
  • Manage Stage Gate Process and bring new products to market by analyzing proposed product requirements and development programs; support return-on-investment analysis; establish time schedules with engineering and manufacturing.
  • Collaborate with the R&D project manager and engineering leaders, ensuring the completion of deliverables and removing barriers.
  • Introduce and market new products by developing time-integrated plans with sales, marketing, and production.
  • Serve as a key information source of product details for marketing, product development, and other decision-makers in the organization.
  • Forecast, refine, and track product financials for the region and take actions to align them to the product budget.
  • Provide information for management by preparing short-term and long-term product sales line sales forecasts, special reports, and analyses.
  • Support product pricing and review production volume and sales costs. Define the product vision and strategy for the scanner and CB category.
  • Develop and maintain a product roadmap aligned with business goals and use r needs.
  • Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and customer interviews to inform feature prioritization.
  • Collaborate with hardware, firmware, and software engineering teams through all product lifecycle stage, from concept to launch.
  • Define product specifications, feature sets, and performance benchmarks.
  • Own and manage the product requirements document (PRD) and use cases.

Key requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Product Design, Business, or related field (technical background preferred).
  • 8- 10+ years of product management experience in consumer electronics or RF communications.
  • Knowledge of radio scanner functionality, digital trunking systems (frequency bands is preferred)
  • Knowledge of FCC regulations, digital protocols (P25), and user trends is preferred.
  • Experience working with cross-functional engineering and design teams
  • Familiarity with hardware/firmware development cycles
  • Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills
  • Passion for technology and user-centric product design
  • Knowledge of the Japanese language would be an advantage but is not essential
  • Occasional travel is required for domestic and international trade shows and conventions (about 25%)

Salary range is up to $125,000 with an excellent bonus structure.
