Mechanical Engineer

We are working with an industry leader who are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join their Engineering Division. This role is essential for supporting the design and fabrication of equipment for all construction projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in planning, equipment design, and problem-solving for mine hoisting systems and conveyances. This position offers the opportunity to work within a multi-disciplinary technical unit, providing design, analysis, and consulting services.
Day to Day of the role:
Design mechanical systems, structures, and components for construction projects.
Modify existing equipment, systems, structures, and components as needed.
Provide technical support across various divisions, including Civil and Mining.
Assist with mechanical plans and technical quotes.
Ensure all designs comply with safety standards.
Respond to site-based requests for information and provide analysis and recommendations.
Prepare and present project documentation, including calculations, drawings, specifications, and reports.
Travel to project sites as required for design implementation and support.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution.
At least 5 years of work experience, preferably in machine design or maintenance.
Ability to become a licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) within 2 years.
Experience with hydraulics, hoists, and/or pneumatic systems is desirable.
Strong problem-solving skills with a logical approach.
Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor software and Finite Element Analysis software.
Advanced computer skills, including spreadsheets, word processing, and database software.
Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
