Sales Manager

We are seeking a Sales Manager with a strong background in Ocean Freight Forwarding to join our dynamic team. This role requires an individual with a deep understanding of sea freight processes, regulations, and documentation requirements. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in sales or business development within the freight forwarding industry and NVOCC experience.
Day to day of the role:
- Identify prospects, customers, and referral sources to grow the company’s business goals.
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing client inquiries and concerns promptly.
- Manage leads to qualify prospects and advance them through the sales process.
- Present and discuss the company’s services, focusing on quality, integrity, and superior delivery.
- Seek new business opportunities to expand the customer base.
- Develop and maintain relationships with new and existing customers through effective sales strategies.
- Conduct market research to identify potential clients and target markets.
- Utilize CRM systems to track customer interactions and sales activities.
- Develop a strategic sales plan that identifies and prioritizes prospects and customers.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure customer satisfaction and successful account management.
- Keep up-to-date with market data and company services.
- Participate in team activities and support operations as needed.
- Prepare business transaction reports and maintain expense accounts.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven sales experience in the Cargo/Freight forwarding industry.
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to build and maintain long-term relationships.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and mathematical skills.
- Strong sales aptitude with a solid understanding of market trends and competition.
- Self-motivated and driven to achieve sales targets and goals.
- Proficiency in CRM systems for managing sales activities.
- Ability to analyze and articulate complex legal and financial information.
- Responsive, proactive, and strong leadership skills.
- Task and goal-oriented, able to function in corporate and entrepreneurial settings.
- Valid state motor vehicle operator’s license, car insurance, and clean driving record.
- Fully bilingual in English and Spanish; additional languages are a plus.
Computer Equipment and Software Requirements:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Experience with Microsoft CRM Dynamics is a plus.
Education and Experience Required:
- College degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in the Cargo/Freight forwarding Industry, preferably with NVOCC, or 4+ years in an outside sales role.
